Announcing the Winner of the 2019 Scholarship

Congratulations Carolina Serrano of Texas A&M University

We are pleased to announce Carolina Serrano as the winner of the 2019 Akkadian Labs Scholarship for $1,000. Candidates were asked to submit an essay detailing how information technology is used in their area of study and where they think their passion for technology may take them in the future. Carolina produced an incredibly motivating essay illustrating her personal journey within her field. Carolina took us on her journey, explaining the multiple challenges the pharmaceutical industry faces when it comes to information technology. Her story touches on the concerns of pharmaceutical manufacturing when it comes to sterility and ensuring patient safety. Carolina has decided to use her knowledge and experience to focus on single-use technologies and information technology improvements that come with this shift. We find her motivation aligns with our broader values of using information technology to streamline processes and eliminate risk. We are honored to award our scholarship to her. Well done Carolina!
