Streamlining CUCM Management Across Four Clusters at a University
Native ServiceNow Integration, Remote Phone Control, and Role-Based Access
Client: A Prestigious American University
Our customer is a large, prestigious university located in the American Midwest.
Provisioning Challenge: Only Two Admins Managing Four Clusters
The university’s Cisco UC environment was comprised of four clusters, including hospitals and a campus police force, but with only two Administrators doing all the MAC-D work—manually! In addition to streamlining MAC-D workflows, they needed a system which would:
- Integrate CUCM with ServiceNow
- Help access and troubleshoot Cisco IP phones
- Enable them to offload less complex tasks to their HelpDesk
Solution: Native ServiceNow integration, Remote Phone Control, and Role-Based Access
One of the Admins had used Akkadian Provisioning Manager in their previous role at another university, and enthusiastically advocated using Provisioning Manager as a powerful solution for all their needs. Specifically:
- Native Integration with ServiceNow for a seamless connection to CUCM
- Remote Phone Control to help them save time and effort manually fixing Cisco IP phones
- Role-Based Access allowed the Admins to allocate custom permissions to the HelpDesk
Result: A Streamlined, Integrated Collaboration Environment
In addition to streamlining MAC-D workflows across four clusters, our native integration with ServiceNow helped to make operations more efficient by seamlessly connecting 2 critical systems with their infrastructure. Remote phone control allowed them to alter lines on Cisco phones without ever leaving their desk. And Role-based access has enabled the UC Admins to securely offload simple tasks to the HelpDesk, freeing them up to focus on more strategic initiatives.
